I enjoy getting out and enjoying both the local Yorkshire Dales and North Yorks Moors which are about 30 mins away and the Lake District which is about 1.5 hours away by car. I think I’m really well placed as not only do I have these great places close by but I’m about 20 mins from the coast and also work. This makes it really easy to find somewhere to go even at short notice or when time is tight - I don't really do planning for short trips, I find the spontaneity more enjoyable.
I love the peace and quiet walking gives me and often walk alone, this does mean I need to take some additional precautions than if I was in a large group but I feel its worth it.
